Green Business certification
A Green Business certification designates a business as an efficient WaterSmart company and a leader in energy efficiency and sustainability.
The California Green Business Network works with small- to medium-sized businesses to create a vibrant and sustainable green economy. Led by a coalition of cities and counties, the program conserves resources, saves money, and helps make communities healthier and more livable. EBMUD encourages organizations within its service area to join this group of innovators committed to the highest standards of water efficiency and sustainability.
Being a certified Green Business brings the following benefits:
- Saving money as a water- and energy-efficient business
- Helping to protect the environment by conserving water and other resources
- Recognition as an environmental leader
- Standing out from competitors
Learn more by visiting the California Green Business Network if your business is in Alameda County and the Contra Costa County Green Business Program if your business is in Contra Costa County. To apply for either program, visit the Green Business registration and application page.
As an additional incentive, both programs offer a rebate of up to $500 for costs incurred during certification or recertification. The rebate programs for Alameda County and Contra Costa County are subject to the availability of funds.
EBMUD also offers a number of rebates to businesses within its service area.
